Love wins.

One of the daily woman's studies I get emailed also goes hand in hand. Their daily verse came from Psalms 39:1: "I will be careful how I act and will not sin by what I say. I will be careful what I say around wicked people. I became very angry inside, and as I thought about it, my anger burned." rehashing over past wrongs, whether they are my own or someone else's, just brings up the emotions of hurt, anger, and confusion. This is one way the devil tempts us into sin. Once the sin that is in the past has been forgiven by God it is gone. Forgiven. Wiped clean. It should be so in our hearts and minds as well. Once we are asked for forgiveness from someone, or we ask God to forgive our wrongdoing, we should forget it, as it never happened. We as Christians have to not only watch what we say, but also our thoughts. Guard them against stirring up conflict. Our love for others, just as God's love for us does, should effectively cover over their sins in our eyes. Love should also win in the battle of hatred and love. This does not mean that we are to condone others sins, but accept that they, like ourselves, are going to make mistakes. We love everyone, so we must forgive everyone as well.

I know I struggle with this. When I start to go through Facebook and I see certain names, instead of thinking about the good relationship we may have once had, I start to think of all they have done wrong to me. I don't reach out and let them know that I forgive them as I should. I feel the pain, and build a wall, and close myself off. It's my defense mechanism that goes hand in hand with never feeling good enough. It is sinful. I know that God made me, and that He loves me. I don't have to continuously change who I am as a whole to please him. I only have to be obedient to his requests. Spending time with him has become a major priority in my life as of late. With Him, I can work towards being the person He wants me to be, and stop worrying about what everyone else wants out of me. Hopefully, I'll also learn to let go of the past and open myself up to new relationships. He knows I'm trying.

Typography Nails

Okay so I saw this picture:

Thankfully, it had a tutorial. In French. But hey, I can read French (and speak/understand it). Yes I am one of the few Texans that took French instead of Spanish.

Followed the very simple instructions (paint nails light color two coats, let dry, dip finger tips in Vodka then apply a piece of newsprint with lots of words on top and slowly pull off, then coat with a single layer of clear top coat) and voila!

Okay, I admit I am not a nail technician, but this was pretty easy. I just need to do something about my cuticles and dry skin. Still loving the result though. One tip, don’t wipe the vodka off your nails before you put the newspaper on top. Otherwise, you won’t have anything down. If you mess up the type on your nails, redip your tips in vodka and wipe it off then try again.

Expect to see this on my nails A LOT. I love it. What do you think?

Bill Pay System

So I had a request in my comments to show my bill pay system, then Sandy’s Monday Mission is the bill pay system! SO I guess it’s time!

Each month I open my calendar (Five Star Scholastic by Mead, they now have one I want to switch to their new Family Calendar soon, both can be  found at Target), and write down the the bills we have and what pay check will go to what bill.

 IMG_2440

See the notes area on your right? That’s where I put my at a glance bill pay schedule. If you go to each day you’ll see that the bill and the amount is written down and highlighted yellow. Here’s a closer look at the notes.

My beloved highlighters. Yellow is for bills, purple is for work related items (or supposed to be), pink is for my schedule, green for Aaron’s. Orange is strictly for crossing the days off. Blue is for reminders (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) or again supposed to be. I hadn’t written down a key for this before, but needed to. SO there it is.

Here’s what it looks like at the end of a month. If you look next to each bill I’ve marked them “pd” for paid. When I catch the amount coming out of our bank account, I mark it off right away. Half of our bills are auto-drafted (insurance, Netflix, clear, and YMCA), the other four are my responsibility to remember. Those four are all paid online, so no checks, no stamps, no envelopes. Rent is the only exception and it is hand delivered.  So I use my Daily Schedule to remind me of upcoming items.

Does this make sense? I pretty much keep up with everything in my calendar and on my Daily Schedule.  If you have any other questions regarding my bill pay system, let me know.

Sharing is caring!
