Challenge Two: Top of Computer Desk
This one I had not previously done. It's pretty much a catch-all for past bills receipts and craft junk supplies. So here is the yucky before:
I will say this desk did get picked over the other day when trying to find check stubs. So it is cleaner than it normally is. My sewing machine from 2009 that has never been used, my art case for college, our wedding photo album, my tool kit, a book of scrapbook paper, some paper work and check stubs, an old hard drive, a sweater that needs a button put back on, a few unfinished craft projects, an air freshener, and well just crap.
First I took everything off the desk. It sure was dusty! Shows how much I actually use this workspace.
If I had a better camera you would see how dusty it was.
So with some pledge and a microfiber cloth, I wiped it clean! Here it is nice and shiny!
So then I started placing only the necessities back on the desk, plus a few decorative pieces. I think it looks so much better now, don't you?
One with the light off:
In one of the photo boxes now lives my glue gun. The white basket houses all of my ribbon or craft jute, twine, and yarn. There's a small picture of me and my husband at my company's Christmas party from 2009. I hung a cute Dollar Tree sign that says "Live Laugh Love." I removed all the pictures from the dry erase board and right now it says "Keep calm and carry on." My desk organizers hold pens, envelopes stamps and my ring inspection calendar, a small notepad, and blank stationary. The second photo box is actually empty right now. I don't know what is going to be put in that box yet. We'll see!
One last before:
And a beautiful after:
