FMM

I like...to create something that could take your breath away. Most of the time I don't finish or I don't like the outcome.

I don't like...being rushed. I like to take my time.

I love...that God is taking control.

I dream of...becoming a better person.

I wonder...what will happen tomorrow?

I know...that I am right where I need to be with my husband and children.

I went...down the hard path because I thought I knew better.


I have...grandiose plans but know that God will make my plans for me.

I think...that things will get better.

I plan...to try and be the best mom, wife, employee, student, and friend. Sometimes things have to go to the wayside.

I regret...I try to regret little, as I am happy with where I am, I just wish it wouldn't have been so hard to get here.

I do...love to read and be lazy sometimes. Okay, most of the time.

I drink...right now a chai tea latte, usually I get a white chocolate mocha but I wanted to try something old.

I wish...that I could make an impact on the world.

I am...starting to understand why I am here.

I am not...perfect. I try, but I know it is impossible.

I need...to finish things.

I graduated...from high school, college is tbd.

I hope...that I can one day work from home.

I want...my husband to find a job he loves to do and is great at. I want him to be happy with who he is.

I sometimes...get too self-conscious about my body and how I look. It's petty to worry about spider veins, stretch marks, and how my hair looks.

I always...try to please other people first.

I can...change a tire.

I work...hard and long. I love what I do most of the time. Sometimes it makes my eyes want to bleed and gives me migraines more often than I've had them before.

I cannot...make people like me. No matter how hard I try, I will not be the girl people look at and say I want to be her best friend.

I avoid...confrontation. I don't think the things that upset me are important enough to fight about. I hate upsetting people and don't wish to lose any battles. Can't lose if you don't fight.

I will...try harder. At everything. Doing my best is what will get me what I desire.

Tot School Thursday

We read through the Under the Sea lapbook and sang itsy bitsy spider. (It's one of her favorite songs, not lapbook related at all, lol.) She did really well with matching the animals together. She loves fish and crabs (or cwabs)!

She does really well with coloring the animals the correct color. She kept asking mommy to color, too!

After that she just wanted to color everything, but you have to let her have fun with her lap book. She loves them all. She calles them her "peprise" or suprise.

She got tired of me taking her picture!

Favicon Tutorial

Yes I have my new custom favicon up, do you?

If not here's how you can do so yourself:

First create a 16 x 16 (pixel) image. Fill that with whatever you like!  Try and keep it simple as it is really small. Most people do images or one letter (i. e. blogger, facebook, etc)

Upload that using whatever website you wish (I use photobucket, but you could use anything!)

Then go to your Design area of blogger and click.

Click on the Edit HTML:

Hit "CTRL F" and type in < / head> without the spaces.

Type the following in replacing "YOURIMAGELINK" with the direct link of your image BEFORE < / head >:

Return of Friend Makin Mondays

I'm excited for Silver Lining's Friend Makin Mondays to return.
This week she's asked for us to remake her Today I... post.

Today I...tried to style my hair slightly different and my headband is giving me a headache
Today I...wore my new dress!

Today...I dropped my son off in First Grade at a brand new school. He wants to ride the bus this year :(

Today I...went to breakfast with my husband and daughter.
Today I...worked at the corporate office.

Today I...caught up on some laundry. I love having a clothes line outside!

Today I...finished my tutorial project that will be posted soon. Yay for hubby running to Walmart in the middle of the night

Tease

So I had said I would hopefully have a tutorial today.

I don't, I'm sorry I didn't get it finished in the time I had, so I can give you a teaser....

Wrong kind of tease, opps!

We love the Simply Lemonade, Limeade, etc. I love the bottles. We've saved up about six of the large bottles, which I ran through the dishwasher and peeled all the stickers off.

So, after accumulating these bottles, promising my family I will do something with them besides let them collect dust, I've decided I want to try this method out, besides that I'm still stumped as to what to do with them and to them. Any ideas?

On a more personal note, please keep the Isaac family in your prayers. They are very close friends (my husband's best man) of ours and B lost his dad on Wednesday. Thank you.

Tot School and Playtime

So I promised tools and toolboxes yesterday on my facebook page, and now it's time to deliver!

Kinzey got to play with her first lap book yesterday. She loved it!

Handy Manny Tot Book

It was her suprise for being such a good girl with daddy while I was at work!

She is so great when you ask her to say cheese, you never know what face you'll get!

She got to go over her colors, we're starting shapes, and the letters in her name.

She loves to color, and gets most of her colors right!

Bubba helped her by reading what the toolboxes were supposed to be colored and she found the crayon.

Later that evening, our neighbors came over to visit for a little bit. Kinzey is all into the "puppy game" which, yes it is a DS game, but this was a necessity when we were in the car for seven hours and all she wanted were puppies!

They played puppies, soccer, and then we ate some pizza!

Homemade Flourless Fried Okra

So I am okra-obsessed!

When I was pregnant I ate it every day.

pickled!

Canned!

Fresh!

Frozen, sauteed, any way I could get my hands on! I still love okra, so I thought I would share one of my recipes with ya'll

Judging by the title we made fried okra. Without flour. I love it, some don't.

Ingredients:

• 
  
  Okra
• 
  
  Frying pan/Fry daddy (we used a fry daddy with peanut oil)
• 
  
  Your choice of oil. (olive oil or peanut oil are the better of the selections)
• 
  
  Your choice of seasoning (I love fajita seasoning)

Directions:

Wash and slice the okra. This was his first time using the knife by himself!

Makre sure you have your frying instrument ready and waiting. Toss the okra in and wait for it to float.

Have your seasoning(s) opened, I also put some napkins on a plate to help get rid of the extra oil.

Pull the okra out and let it drip off excess oil into the pan/fry daddy, place on plate and add your seasonings.

Revel in the beauty of that okra.

Enjoy that amazing treat!

Birthday Party Planning

So it's time to (past time) to start planning Kinzey's 2nd birthday party. To go along with her favorite things to do, we are throwing a Dress-Up Party.

Somethings I need to do:

• Make the invitation list
• Create the invitations
• Decide on desserts
• Plan the food/drink
• Come up with decorations

I'm thinking cupcakes with tiaras, high heels, and jewelry...I like these:

For the food menu, I'm thinking finger foods again. I really need to find a tiara cookie cutter so I can make these:

I'm also thinking of making pink popcorn, pink lemonade, serving some watermelon, green grapes, and kiwi to keep pink and green the theme here.

For decorations I want to make some pom pom balls that will later on go in her and Houston's room (i'll be making teal ones to match the "Oh, the places you'll go" theme in there...

I'm not sure where I first found the how-to for those, so if it was you send me a message or comment. They are all over blogland now, especially after Martha Stewart featured them on her site.

The invitations will be a surprise, as will some of the rest of the decorations. If you have any ideas that may be helpful let me know!

First Pedicure

So today, Kinzey went with me to the nail salon. Whitney came along too. It was very...stressful...fun. Getting Kinzey to sit still the entire time was very difficult, but the nail tech was very patient with us all.

Friendships

Okay, I admit it. I am a crappy friend. I'm hermit-like and stuck in my ways of just hanging out at the house. I hate talking on the phone. I'm not big on driving anywhere to far out of my way. I'm lazy.

I am also forever disappointed in myself for not having best friends or even really close friends.

I used to blame everyone else but, it's me. I always thought I was the friend you could always depend on. Turns out people don't need someone to be there when times are rough. They need someone that is there every day. During the good, the bad, the mundane. Starting today, I'm trying to be your everyday friend. You know who you are. From good morning! To good afternoon!

Is everyone ready for tax free weekend?

Yeah, I'm not going shopping then either, it's a mad house! We did go through Houston and Kinzey's clothes and take out everything that was too small (amazingly enough it's mostly bye bye to Kinzey's clothes and shoes...she's down to three pairs of flip flops and some tennis shoes. She might go crazy without all her options!) and we are donating them to various things. I looked online and found this, but it wasn't exactly what I wanted so I created my own here:

What do you use to get everyone ready for back to school? Right now we go with the ready to go school supply boxes, so all we have to buy supplies wise is a backpack and lunchbox. Most likely we're going this weekend to get everything on our lists.

Computer Updates

So my computer came up with the blue screen of death a couple of weeks ago. If you can remember, I had Vista on my laptop, cannot stand it. So I still have the same laptop but now I have Windows 7. So far so good, but it's only been about half an hour. I am super excited to have my beloved computer back. Trying to stay updated on blogger on just my cell was hard, so I never posted.
